A Note to Families

Dear Middleton Families,

It is with great enthusiasm I have the opportunity to teach your children here at Middleton Elementary School. First and foremost, I am so excited to get to know you and your children. I know how special this school year is for each and every child coming into my classroom and my goal is to make it the most enriching environment possible.

A little about  myself, my name is Kelsey Runckel (Allred) and this is my fifth year at Middleton (boy do I love it)! In 2015 I graduated from University of Portland for my Master's of Art in Teaching. Prior to earning my Masters, I attended the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and Sciences while minoring in both Spanish and Special Education. Throughout my high school and college experiences I was fortunate to volunteer in numerous classrooms as well as briefly substitute at Middleton Elementary in the Spring of 2015.  I have enjoyed being a part of the kindergarten team at Middleton for three years and am looking forward to my third year for the 2018-2019 school year!

As we approach Ramp Up and the beginning of the school year,  it will be important to note that our Kindergarten team will be writing monthly newsletters. The purpose of these newsletters are to keep each and every family up to date on the latest themes and curriculum we will be teaching. This newsletter will also include any important dates and reminders of events happening throughout the month. With this being said, please feel free to email me at anytime with questions or concerns that you may have about Ramp Up, our class or your child. I am looking forward to the start of our amazing school year.

Best Wishes,

Kelsey Runckel
